Set up Kimi Code in four steps

Works with Kimi Code on macOS, Linux and Windows · Android 8.0 or later · Free

What you need

  • Kimi Code installed on your computer, signed in to your Kimi account.
  • Kimi Code on your phone, from Google Play.
  • Both devices signed in with the same Kimi account.

1 · Turn on remote control

Open Kimi Code on your computer and enable remote control in Settings → Remote control. If you prefer the terminal, run this inside your project directory:

$ kimi rc

Kimi Code prints a pairing code and registers the computer as a device. Leave it running — that machine is now reachable from your phone.

2 · Sign in on your phone

Open Kimi Code and sign in with the same Kimi account you use on the computer. Sign-in happens on Kimi's account page in your browser; the password never passes through the app.

3 · Connect

Your computer shows up in the device list with its name and online status. Tap it and the session opens on your phone — messages, tool calls and terminal output stream back as they happen.

4 · Send your first task

Type what you want done. When a command needs your approval, you get a notification — one tap and the run continues. Files and a full terminal are there when a task needs a closer look.

Troubleshooting

  • Device shows offline — check that kimi rc is still running on the computer and both devices are online. Wake the computer and reconnect.
  • Wrong account — sign out in Kimi Code and sign in again with the account that owns the Kimi Code session.
  • Stuck connection — stop and restart kimi rc, then reconnect from the device list.
